16394823785_df2449db21_zWest Yorkshire & Harrogate Suicide Bereavement Service (WYHSBS) is a postvention service, providing practical and emotional support to people who have been affected by a suicide bereavement.

WYHSBS will work to support residents of the following areas: Calderdale, Craven, Bradford, Huddersfield, Kirklees and Wakefield.

Leeds is also part of West Yorkshire and Harrogate but has already had an established postvention service since 2015, funded by Leeds City Council. The Leeds Suicide Bereavement Service will continue to support the Leeds population.

The West Yorkshire and Harrogate Suicide Bereavement Service has been funded by NHS England and is initially funded as a one-year trial. WYHSBS has been developed using the Leeds Suicide Bereavement Service model and is lead by Leeds Mind, building on the experience of the LSBS. It is expected that this service will respond flexibly dependant on the needs of the wider population it will work to support.

Further information on how the support on offer and the work we do can be found in the ‘Our Support’ tabs.
